Marcus was rescued during a -30°C cold snap by the @therescuecollectivefoundation . At the time, he was emaciated, suffering from significant hair loss due to mange, and dealing with painful cellulitis in his paws. Today, he is healthy, his coat is filling in beautifully, and he is ready to move on to his next chapter.
Marcus is essentially a puppy in a giant, fluffy body. He is athletic and enthusiastic, preferring to move in leaps and bounds rather than walking. Because of his size and large paws, he can be quite clumsy, often leading to amusing situations. He is affectionate, eager to please, and loves to stay close to his people.
He is a sensitive soul who isn’t afraid to express his feelings. While he can be a bit of a worrier, he has made incredible progress in his foster home. He has learned to manage his anxiety, has conquered mouthing behaviors, and now waits quietly by the window when his humans are away.

✨ Leash Skills: He is learning to heel on a harness and is excellent off-leash with reliable recall.
✨ Socialization: He is eager to meet other dogs but can be slightly nervous; parallel walking is the best method for introductions.
✨ Routine a must: He needs a routine-oriented home with owners who have experience handling large breeds. Consistency and patience are the keys to success with Marcus. Once he understands what is expected of him, he works hard to follow through.
